With a background in technology and information services, as well as the medical sector, he collaborated with the British government on a federated learning journey, that maintained strict patient confidentiality while harnessing extensive NHS data. Witness how, along with his team, he transformed healthcare AI by crafting tumor recognition models covering a broad patient spectrum.
Daria Gherghelas is a Health & TechBio investor at Speedinvest, a leading pan-European Early Stage VC fund with more than 1 billion AuM and 40+ investment professionals working from London, Berlin, Munich, Paris and Vienna. An engineer by background, Daria worked as a software developer at a Seed-stage startup, helping build the world’s largest database for small businesses. She then decided to move to the other side of the table, helping founders achieve their vision.
Dr. Dom Pimenta, M.D., is the CEO of TORTUS, a healthcare AI company. With a background in cardiology and a focus on AI in healthcare, he co-founded TORTUS to pioneer clinical AI tools for physicians. Dr. Pimenta has a distinguished career, including digital health trials and AI publications. He is also a former chair of The Healthcare Workers’ Foundation and a recipient of notable awards.
Dr. Avi Mehra is an Associate Partner for Healthcare & Life Sciences and Clinical Safety Lead at IBM, and the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Doctorpreneurs, a not-for-profit organisation and one of the world's first and largest communities for medical innovators and entrepreneurs. He is also a Digital Health Commercial & Technology Advisor to startups, VCs, accelerators, venture builders and innovation units, passionate coach and mentor, and Fellow at the Faculty of Clinical Informatics.
